Mining Engineer

Momentum Mining Services Limited is seeking the services of a Mining Engineer to actively participate on projects countrywide. As a key member of the team, you will carry out skilled engineering work at specified locations on designated projects set along the different stages of the mining cycle.

Key Responsibilities :

• Undertake feasibility studies and assess site viability (including reserve and resource estimates), including commercial viability, taking into account specified criteria.
• Assist with project proposals, reporting, planning, designing and developing methods and structure of mines and material requirements and handling, on specific projects, using appropriate software and systems.
• Monitor projects to ensure efficient operations.
• Ensure projects adhere to all aspects of health and safety issues, including selection and use of equipment.
• Overall responsibility for assessment and allocation of supplies.
• Liaise with contractors / suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Subject to specified criteria, set action and targets, appraise and manage performance, development, coaching and general support of all project team members to ensure targets are effectively met.
• Subject to specified criteria, carry out projects in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Carry out projects within specified time limits.
• Ensure compliance to quality standards, policies and procedures, codes and legislation.
• Responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet budgetary controls.
