About the role :
You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve national sales targets and expand the company’s customer base. The role involves leading and mentoring a team of regional sales executives, analyzing market trends, and driving business growth through effective distributor / channel partner management and retail execution.
What you will actually do :
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Forecast sales volumes across regions and product categories.
- Identify opportunities for growth, market expansion, and product penetration.
- Lead, coach, and motivate regional sales executives and their teams.
- Set performance targets and regularly monitor achievements.
- Identify training needs and ensure capability building within the sales team.
- Develop a robust distribution network across urban and rural markets.
- Manage relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and stockists.
- Ensure optimal availability and visibility of products across all retail channels (GT / MT).
- Drive execution of trade promotions and in-store activities.
- Ensure effective use of sales automation tools and data-driven decision-making.
- Monitor and control sales budgets, discounts, and schemes.
- Track competitor activities, pricing, and promotional strategies.
- Analyze sales trends and market share to identify potential risks / opportunities.
- Provide actionable insights to product and marketing teams.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports and business performance reviews to top management.
- Ensure timely data collection from the field and proper reporting structures.
What you Bring :
Bachelor’s degree in Business / Sales / Marketing / or Commerce.Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in FMCG sales.Strong knowledge of Africa’s FMCG distribution and retail ecosystemStrategic thinking and problem-solvingStrong leadership and team-building abilitiesExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsAnalytical mindset with proficiency in sales analytics toolsAbility to work under pressure and travel extensivelyWe value people who :
