Profile
The Magobbo Cane Growers Trust represents the 80 farmers of the Magobbo project which comprises hectares of furrow irrigated sugarcane near Mazabuka in the Southern Province of Zambia. The Trust now invites applications from suitably qualified Zambian Citizens to fill the positions of :
FARM MANAGER
Job Purpose
Reporting to the MCGT Management Committee, the purpose of the job is to manage all operational and financial aspects of the project including sugarcane growing, maintenance of infrastructure and assets and the provision of financial and Human Resources administration services.
Main Responsibilities
- All sugarcane and alternative crop growing, harvesting and haulage operations including the management of agricultural service contracts
- Installation, operation, and maintenance of all the irrigation, road, drain, machinery, electrical and building infrastructure / assets
- Management of the accounting service for the project
- Planning farm input requirements, approving orders for materials and services and monitoring stock holdings
- Human Resource management
- Management of occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental risks
