POSITION OF VICE CHANCELLOR
A vacancy has arisen for the position of Vice Chancellor at the Zambia Catholic University to be filled by a dynamic, innovative and visionary individual.
A Search Committee acting on behalf of the University Council invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the appointment to the position.
1. JOB PURPOSE
The Vice Chancellor is the chief academic, financial, and administrative head of the University. The Vice Chancellor is responsible for the strategic leadership in financial, administrative and academic management of the institution to ensure that it attains its role of fostering economic, social, moral and spiritual development through research and innovation.
2. DUTIES
In performing the functions of the job, the Vice Chancellor shall develop educational frameworks, policies and take ownership of the University Strategic Plan which outlines the University’s strategic goals. These include, to :
b) Act as the representative of the University and be its spokesperson in its external
c) Assume administrative responsibilities for the day-to-day operations and implementing
e) Have a direct oversight of day-to-day operations of the core academic activities, resource
h) Perform such other functions and have other powers as the University Council may, by Statutes, prescribe.
3. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
a) Holder of an earned doctorate from a recognised institution of higher learning or
d) Not less than ten years of relevant experience at senior management level or at least
g) Experience in resource mobilization, visionary with ability to inspire others.
4. ATTRIBUTES
g) Must be a practising Catholic.
5. REMUNERATION
The University offers an attractive remuneration package for the person appointed to the position of Vice Chancellor as determined by the University Council from time to time.
6. TENURE
The Vice Chancellor is appointed to hold office for a period of five years which is renewable for a similar period depending on performance.
